Mangalore University has introduced the online verification system for certificates called Global Document Verification System (GDVS). It has been initiated for the degree certificate and marks-card verification process.
The first state university in Karnataka to initiate a paperless verification system through GDVS. The company produced the new system by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras.
The old system of checking the documents was a time-consuming, it takes around 2 to 3 days. The system is not only cost-effective, it is also transparent and can put a stop to fraud.
As per the University officials, candidate who want to check his / her certificates through this new system, need to by uploading the certificates at the university official website and making online payment. After checking the certificates, an email will be sent to the candidate, along with a link of verified document.
The fee for the online verification is Rs 1,500/- for each document. The Bangalore University will also use the same system to check the certificates online starting from next academic year.
