Food Technology is the application of food science in processing, manufacturing, and preservation of food products. Graduates in Food Technology or those who have done food processing courses have vast scope in food processing industries, research laboratories, hotels, soft drink factories, quality control, rice mills, manufacturing industries, and distilleries. Diploma holders in dietetics, applied nutrition, food science and preservation have scope in restaurants and hospitals. Bacteriologist, toxicologists and those trained in packaging technology, organic chemistry, biochemistry and analytical chemistry can find opening in food technology laboratories or in quality control departments. Public sector undertakings like Food Corporation of India require people to handles purchase, storage, transportation, and distribution of food grains and other processed food items.

Gardening programme by Mumbai University

The University of Mumbai has started three new and unique courses on gardening- Intensive Gardening, Nursery and Farm House Management and Garden Craft course for small and ornamental gardens. The first two courses are in Marathi whereas, the third course is available in Marathi and English. All these courses are run by the Centre for Extra-Mural Studies of Mumbai University. Apart from these courses, the centre has also launched a unique course in Ornamental Aquarium Fish Keeping and Breeding. This course will teach students about maintaining the aquarium, choosing the appropriate flora and fresh water ornamental fish.

EU Policy and Regulatory Affairs Clinic at NYU and HEC Paris

Initiated by Alberto Alemanno, Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law at HEC Paris, HEC Paris and New York University (NYU) School of Law have set up the first EU legal clinic devoted to European policy and regulatory affairs.

By teaming up with selected NGOs and offering pro-bono legal advice, this initiative will allow selected students from NYU and HEC Paris to experience the EU decision-making process through public consultations, access to documents and European citizens' initiative, as well as through other elements of participatory democracy. The goal is to challenge and further the knowledge which the students have accumulated in their European studies.

Duration:

Students will participate in EU consultations and draft submission on behalf of NGOs and civil society groups over the duration of their degrees.

Eligibility:

All the students who are pursuing relevant degree at NYU or HEC Paris are eligible to apply.
