For those who are willing to pursue career in research and academics, CSIR is conducting the joint CSIR UGC national eligibility test in December 2016. Those who are willing to get the junior research fellowship and eligibility for lectureship in government and private universities can take up this test.
ELIGIBILITY: Those candidates who fulfill the given criterion may apply-
Having a degree of M.Sc/ integrated M.Sc/ BS - 4 years/ B.tech/ B.pharma/ MBBS
Have secured at least 55% marks in the qualifying degree for general and OBC (non creamy layer) candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PH/visually handicapped candidates
Candidates aged 28 years on 1/7/2016 can apply for JRF which has 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PH/female applicants while lectureship (NET) has no age limit
HOW TO APPLY: The candidates can apply online through the CSIR site before 9 September 2016. They need to download e-challan and fill up the application fee in any branch of Indian bank. The hard copy of application form with e-challan and relevant documents should be send to "The deputy secretary, HRDG" on or before 16/9/2016.
APPLICATION FEE: The interested candidates need to pay an application fee of 1000/- for general and OBC (creamy layer) categories, 500/- for OBC (non creamy layer) category and 250/- for SC/ST/PH/VH categories.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: The CSIR UGC NET, December 2016 will be conducted for the given subjects - Life sciences, Physical sciences, Chemical sciences, Mathematical sciences, Ocean and Planetary sciences and Atmospheric earth. The exam will be held in two sessions - morning, from 9 am to 12 pm and afternoon, from 2 pm to 5 pm, and will be of 200 marks.
