The Kuvempu University has decided to collect convocation fee along with admission fee from next academic year 2015-16.
The University, Registrar (Evaluation), Bhojya Naik said, "We decided to collect both convocation and admission fee from regular students from 2015."
More than 40,000 certificates are pending in the university to distribute to the students. The issue of certificates was problem for the university as well as for the students who had to collect.
There is no single certificate that is there with the university, as all the certificates have been disbursed," said registrar (evaluation) Bhojya Naik.
The varsity had dropped the plan to collect the fee at the time of convocation.
Naik said that it was compulsory for the students to receive applications online, for examination, re-evaluation and re-totaling. Students can also remit the examination fee with post office.
KU has signed agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to distribute tamper-proof plastic certificates. The certificate would have the photograph of the candidates'. The candidates must have to upload their photograph while submitting applications online.
