KUPECA Announces the Dates for the COMED-K Exam

The COMED-K entrance exam is applicable for the undergraduation courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (BE) as well as Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch) courses

The entrance examination, COMED-K (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental, Karnataka) for engineering courses across private colleges will be held on 7 May 2017 that falls on a Sunday.

On Thursday the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA) made an announcement that students, who have finished their 10+2, are eligible to apply for the entrance test, that will be the gateway to around 150 engineering colleges in the state. The entrance exam is applicable for the undergraduation courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (BE) as well as Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch) courses.

The test type will be computer-based, that is online and will be held all over the country simultaneously. COMEDK website will contain the detailed information about the exam.

Until last year, the test was accepted as entrance exam to medical and dental colleges as well. But after the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 was introduced as the single channel to medical and dental colleges, COMEDK decided to conduct entrance only for engineering and architecture courses.

According to COMEDK official website, Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation, in a move to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka" (COMEDK).

COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the current academic year. COMEDK entrance test & publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window system).The list of the member institutions have indicated their participation in the COMEDK testing program, along with the courses offered by them, is published in our website.

COMEDK's website contains information and current updates/alerts. This site is updated regularly. Applicants are advised to visit it frequently for relevant information.
