The budget allocation for Karnataka happened today as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah listed out various schemes for the sectors that needed attention. As for education, his plans centered around introducing centres to study robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and much more.
Education Budget for School Students
In Karnataka education budget, he also expressed his concern for skill development to and promised to give it more thrust. As for school children, children from first standard will be given education on English in government schools.
Girl students from class 8 to 10 will get shoes, socks and chudidhars. Along with this, every student will get spectacles and story books with social message proposed for school children. From June 2017, two days a week, anganwadi children will be given eggs for their noon meals.
The famous 'Ksheera Bhagya scheme' for providing milk to school children proposed would also be increased from existing 3 days to 5 days in a week.
Education Budget for College Students
The good news for college students is that they will be given free laptops at the undergraduate level.
Also, it has been approved to open the Bengaluru Dr BR Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) on the lines of London School of Economics and this budget will enable in giving students quality education.
On cards, is the establishment of new Raichur university with all colleges in Raichur and Yadgir districts to be established. Twenty-five new polytechnics in rural areas have been proposed.
Education Budget for PhD Students
For research purposes, forensic Sciences and Technology Center will be established in Bengaluru at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
Other Schemes
Free wi-fi will be provided to all grama panchayats and 'Mobile canteens' for SHG's in every district were among the other schemes.
