Job offers flying high at IIT Madras

The final year students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras have more job offers. This year several multinational companies have job offers to the students.

A total of 1,391 students of B.Tech, Dual-B.Tech, M.Tech, MS and Ph.D are waiting for the placement process. Around 235 companies have offers 310 jobs.

As per the reports, IIT Madras officials had sent an invitation to 1,000 companies to appear for campus placements. Out of these 762 firms showed interest and 235 have confirmed to participate in campus placements.

The placement, advisor of IIT Madras, Prof. Babu Viswanathan said that last year few companies had offered one job, but this year same company offers two jobs.

He also said, "We have a wide variety of companies, including analytics, consulting, finance, IT, research & development, start-ups and government, that will recruit students in our campus from December 1, the day placement starts at all seven older IITs."

Last year, a student was offered a job of whopping Rs 1.36 crore package. This year also IIM Madras is expecting to have such job offer. This year 73 companies, including Auctus Advisor, Affine Analytics, Tiger Analytics have joined the recruiter's list.
