Indian Air Force invited applications from unmarried male candidates (citizens of Nepal are also eligible) for recruitment to Group ‘X (Technical) and Y (Non-Technical)' or both posts. The candidates eligible for the post can apply online through prescribed format on or before 28 November 2015.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Group ‘X and Y' Jobs:

Educational Qualification:

  • Group ‘X' (Technical)- Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Group ‘Y' (Non-Technical)- Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Both Group ‘X and Y' (Technical and Non-Technical)- Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 21 years

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview/exam conducted by the organization.

How to Apply?

Eligible candidates can apply online to the post through the prescribed format along with other necessary documents on or before 28 November 2015 and offline on or before 05 December 2015.

Examination Procedure for Indian Air Force Group ‘X and Y' Jobs:

The examination paper will comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning and General Awareness respectively for Group ‘X and Y' Posts.

    About Indian Air Force:

    The Indian Air Force (IAF; Devanāgarī: भारतीय वायु सेना, Bharatiya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its the World's 4th largest Airforce. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. After India became independent from the United Kingdom in 1947, the Royal Indian Air Force served the Dominion of India, with the prefix being dropped when India became a republic in 1950. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus and Operation Poomalai.
