Eligibility Criteria for Paramedical Staff Posts

Educational Qualification:

• Nursing Orderly: Matriculation or equivalent from recognized board. Elementary knowledge of 1st Aid. One year experience in handling and dressing wounds in Government approved/registered Nursing Home/Hospital.

• Dresser: Matriculation of equivalent from a recognized Board. Two years Experience in application of Plasters in an Orthopaedic Unit of a registered/recognized Hospital

• Cook Mate: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board with two years experience in cooking of Indian food.

• Laundry Operator: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board with Two Years experience in Laundry work, comprising Ironing of Clothes/Operating Laundry Machines and Dry-Cleaning plants.

• Steward: 10+2 or equivalent qualification from recognized Board with two years experience in catering and kitchen management.

• Medical Social Worker: Degree/Diploma in Social Work from a Central Govt/State Govt/AICTE recognized institution preferably with One Year experience in family planning, social work/Health Education/Training.

Age Limit:

1. Nursing Orderly, Dresser: 18-27 years

2. Cook Mate: 27 years

3. Laundry Operator: 32 years

4. Steward: 21-30 years

5. Medical Social Worker: 37 years

About ESIC:

Employees' State Insurance is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. For all employees earning ₹15000 (US$230) or less per month as wages, the employer contributes 4.75 percent and employee contributes 1.75 percent, total share 6.5 percent. This fund is managed by the ESI Corporation (ESIC) according to rules and regulations stipulated there in the ESI Act 1948, which oversees the provision of medical and cash benefits to the employees and their family through its large network of branch offices, dispensaries and hospitals throughout India. ESIC is an autonomous corporation by a statutory creation under Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. As it is a legal entity, the corporation can raise loans and take measures for discharging such loans with previous sanction of the central government and it can acquire both movable and immovable property and all incomes from the property shall vest with the corporations.[1] The corporation can set up hospitals either independently or in collaboration with state government or other private entities, but most of the dispensaries and hospitals are run by concerned state governments.
