Eligibility Criteria for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2015

Educational Qualification:

  • General Duty & General Duty Pilot: Should hold a Bachelor's degree of recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (ie.1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech or 1styear to last year for Bachelor Degree Candidates wherever applicable). Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education with 60% aggregate marks in Maths & Physics [Candidates not in possession of Physics & Math in 10 + 2 (Intermediate) level are not eligible for General Duty(GD) & General Duty Pilot].
  • Technical Branch (Mechanical & Electrical): (i) Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or Should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in any of the discipline listed below with 60% marks.

(a) Engineering Branch - Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine orAutomotive or Mechatronics or Industrial andProduction orMetallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.

(b) Electrical Branch - Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or PowerEngg.orPower Electronics.

(ii) At least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics and Maths in 12th class, or three year diploma course with an aggregate of 60%.

  • Law Branch: A Degree in Law with minimum 60 % marks from a recognised University. (Three years degree in Law after graduation) or (Five years after 10+2 examination).

Short Service Appointments (for 08 years)

  • Pilot: 12th class pass with 60% marks in aggregate and should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) approved by DGCA on the date of Preliminary Selection.
  • General Duty (Women): Should hold a Bachelor's degree of recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education with 60% aggregate marks of both subjects.

Age Limit

Candidates should be born between:-

  • General Duty: 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive)
  • General Duty Pilot: 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1997 (both dates inclusive)
  • Technical Branch (Mechanical & Electrical): 01.07.1988 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive) for OBC & 01.07.1986 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive) for SC/ST
  • Law Branch: 01.07.1983 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive) for OBC & 01.07.1981 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive) for SC/ST

Short Service Appointments (for 08 years)

  • Pilot: 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1997 (both dates inclusive)
  • General Duty (Women): 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive)

Relaxations: The upper age limit for OBC/SC/ST for above branches is relaxable as per Govt. of India rule in vogue.

Eligible candidates can apply online to the post through the organisation's website and print out of the filled-in form two copies along with other necessary documents are required to submit at the examination centre. The last date of online application is 25 December 2015.
