Indian Air Force invited applications from individuals (men and women) for recruitment to the post of Commissioned Officers, Permanent/ Short Service Commission in Meteorology Branch. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through the prescribed format on or before 02 January 2016.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Commissioned Officers Job

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-Physics/ Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% mark in aggregate of all papers put together. (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level, with a minimum of 55% marks in both).

Age Limit: 20-26 years.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview/exam conducted by the organization.

About Indian Air Force:

The Indian Air Force (IAF; Devanāgarī: भारतीय वायु सेना, Bharatiya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its the World's 4th largest Airforce. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. After India became independent from the United Kingdom in 1947, the Royal Indian Air Force served the Dominion of India, with the prefix being dropped when India became a republic in 1950. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Apart from conflicts, the IAF has been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions.
