TLSU started functioning at Vadodara

India's first vocational university named TeamLease Skills University (TLSU) has started functioning in Vododara, Gujarat. The classes have started for the first batch which consists of 4,000 students and there are around 20 faculty members working there at present.

The university has started functioning with the joint initiative of the state of Gujarat and with the help of Human Resource (HR) services firm TeamLease.

The new varsity offers degree courses in specialisations - Mechatronics, Information Technology, Hospitality and Tourism and Finance & Business Operations. There is also a associate degree programmes with the same subjects.

According to TeamLease, the university will cater 10,000 students in next three years. The overall expenditure for the university for next 3 years is Rs 50 crore.

TLSU offers corporate education, NETAP or an apprenticeship program, cloud-based training and on-campus training. It follows the community college model of the United States (US).

Who can apply for it?

  • Any candidate who has passed 12th Std / 12th equivalent in 10+2 pattern is eligible to apply.
  • The candidates who have successfully completed 2 years ITI programme after 10th Std. are also eligible to apply.
  • The candidates who have appeared for examination and waiting for results can also apply. The admission will be granted only on submission of final mark sheet and satisfying the requirements at the time of admission.

About NETAP:
National Employability Through Apprenticeship Program (NETAP) is a Public Private Partnership of TeamLease Skills University, CII, and NSDC under the National Employability Enhancement Mission of the Ministry of HRD (AICTE). It will help unemployed youth to build skills through Learning by doing and Learning while earning along with providing them with access to practical skills.
