Inauguration of PG and Research Programmes at CMR University

Adding another feat to the CMR university' achievements, the first batch of students for post graduate and research programmes were given a warm welcome by the management and faculty of the varsity on September 4, Thursday. As many as 47 students have enrolled in post graduate courses like MSW, MSc Psychology and M.Com, and 48 in the research programmes at the CMR University.

Delivering the inaugural address to the post graduate and research scholars, Dr Ravi Kumar, professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore(IIMB), focused on the importance of abilities of learning.

"Ability to learn is a process and compatibility is the unique ability is to interact with people irrespective of the differences. Adaptability is also an important criteria which has to be inculcate, in failing to do so, the purpose of education is not served," pointed Dr Ravi Kumar.

The IIMB professor also urged the new research students to detach from the traditional learning methods and to embrace newer methods of learning. Dr Kumar said, "Research scholars must have the right kind of exposure, and put in the required efforts to complete their designated topics or thesis. Endurance during the research work and preparation is a very important aspect for scholars. At CMR University, students and scholars must leverage the resources and faculty that is provided on campus."

Dr Anand K Joshi, vice chancellor, CMR University, welcoming the new batch of students, added that the process for selecting the research scholars was a tough one and students have been selected on various important parameters.

Pankaj Das, student, MSc Psychology said that CMR university was one of the best varsities in Bangalore and hence wanted to pursue his masters programme. Meanwhile, for Vinay, a Phd scholar, "The search for a good university has ended with the my enrollment in CMR university. Owing to the reputation and the strong faculty, I chose the varsity."
