Applications are invited for summer training

IIT Patna invites applications for its summer training programme 'Mathematics Training and Talent Search' (MTTS) for the academic year 2014. The mathematics training and talent search (MTTS) programme is one of the most popular and significant summer training programme in India. This programme has been running since 1993 and has made an impressive impact on mathematical scene in the country. Students can apply online by visiting the official website of IITP.

The aim of the programme is to expose bright young students to the excitement of doing Mathematics, to promote independent mathematical thinking and to prepare them for higher aspects of Mathematics. The faculty will be active mathematicians with a commitment to teaching and from various leading institutions. The aim of the instructions is not to give routine lectures but to stimulate the participants to think and discover mathematical results.

Topics to be covered:

  • Foundations of Mathematics
  • Linear Algebra and Real Analysis
  • Number Theory/ Combinatorics

Eligibility:

Second or third year undergraduate students with Mathematics as one of their main subjects. The preference will be given to second year students.

How to apply:

Details and application forms can be had from the Head, Department of Mathematics of your Institution. It can also be downloaded from the MTTS website. The completed application form along with the recommendation letter should reach the Programme Director Prof. S. Kumaresan.

Important dates:

  • Last date to apply: 25th March, 2014
  • Course starts on: 9th June, 2014
  • Course ends on 21st June, 2014
