IIT-M Students get Global Foundation Scholarship from Nissan

The 4th annual Nissan Global Foundation Scholarship from industry tycoon Nissan, was given to two brilliant students of IIT Madras. The joint bureau of Nissan Global Foundation (NGF) and IIT Madras (IIT M) presented the scholarship to two students of Mechanical Engineering Department.

A two year financial grant of Rs. 1.2 lakh shall be given to the awardees as a part of the scholarship. Additionally, they will get a chance to visit the headquarters of Nissan, R&D Centre at Japan and the Nissan production plant, along with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Pvt Ltd (RNTBCI)'s internship.

The selected two were chosen from a group of 50 students, after thorough process of selection by NGF officials and IIT professors.

The association of Nissan with IIT M is deep and they have come together for many research projects associated to advanced areas of automobile technology. IIT M's students are helped by Nissan to undergo R&D projects in domains such as humanities, management, social sciences, science and engineering.

"Around five projects are chosen for funding every year based on proposals from young faculty of IIT-M. This further emphasizes Nissan's commitment in the field of education and research in India.
