IIT-Dharwad to Begin Classes in July; Plans to Introduce 3 New Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad, is all set to start academic activities in the month of July this year.

 

IIT-D, which has plans to introduce three new courses in Computer Science, Mechanical and Electronics, will also be offering admissions to 40 students in each course.

The academic activities will be conducted at the Water and Land Management Institute (Walmi) till the permanent campus is set up.

IIT-Bombay is the designated mentor for IIT-Dharwad. The technical team, headed by professor Shivaprasad, inspected the campus and conducted meeting with District Minister Vinay Kulkarni, MLA Arvind Bellad, Deputy Commissioner Rajendra Cholan and others.

IIT-Dharwad to begin classes in July

An MoU will be signed with the state government requesting to provide the needed facilities for the next five years at WALMI.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Narayan Punekar, Dean, Academics, IIT-Bombay, said, "The Joint Entrance Examination results will be announced on June 10".

"The district administration has been asked to provide three laboratories for Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science," he added.
