IIT Delhi Alumni Association celebrates Distinguished Alumni Awards

IIT Delhi Alumni Association celebrates

New Delhi, November 2014: IIT Delhi Alumni Function hosted Distinguished Alumni Awards Felicitation Function, 2014 on 1stNovember 2014. The awards were conferred with the Institute Convocation Function.

The function commenced with the welcome address by Mr. C.K. Jain, Secretary, IITDAA and Prof.Mukesh Khare, Dean AA & IP, followed by the address note by Prof S.N. Singh, Dy. Director (Operations), IIT Delhi who also felicitated the awardees.

The awards were remunerated to the esteemed Dr. Lalit Pandey, Dr. Avinash Chanderand Dr. Manish Gupta.

Dr.Lalit Pandey, Director, UttarakhandSevaNidhiParyavaranShikshaSansthan (USNPSS), AlmoraUttrakhand. SevaNidhi is a public charitable trust founded in 1967. Dr Pandey holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1970. He received his Master's degree from MIT, Cambridge in 1972 and Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1982.

Dr. Avinash Chander is presently the Scientific Adviser to the Defense Minister& Secretary, Department of Defense R&D, and Director General, DRDO. He received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1972 and Master's and Ph.D. degrees from JNTU, Hyderabad.

Dr. Manish Gupta is the President and Director of Xerox Research Center India. Dr. Gupta received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1987. He subsequently received his Master's degree from Ohio State University and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Mr. Ashok Kumar, President of the IIT Delhi Alumni Association said, "We are overwhelmed with the award function and convey our Heartiest Congratulations to the Awardeeson behalf of all the alumni across the globe."

The function concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Malti Goel, Treasurer, IITDAA.
