IIT Bombay overtakes IIT Delhi in Varsity Rankings

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has overtaken the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2014.

 

The list of QS World University Rankings 2014 was released on Tuesday, this year also Indian universities failed to to be get place among top 200.

This year, IIT Bombay has emerged has leading university from India, ranked in the 222th position on the QS rankings. IIT Delhi was the leading university for the past 10 years in QS. This year, IIT Delhi placed in the 235th position.

IIT Bombay is the sure winner for the rankings in 2014, due to its improvement in its reputation among both academic and employers. According to QS, IIT Bombay is in top 60th position for international survey of employers and its position is 160th in the academic reputation.

This year, Calcutta University has jumped 50 ranks as it is placed in the 650th position in the world rankings. Even, University of Delhi has jumped 20 ranks to 430th position.

The survey was conducted based on the parameters of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty students ratio, international faculty, international students and citations per faculty.
