IIT (BHU) invites applications for its Endowment Scholarship programmes for the academic year 2014. Application forms can be obtained from the scholarship section of IIT (BHU).
IIT (BHU),Varanasi has a residential and co-educational campus built on an area of 400 acres within the larger BHU campus which is spread over nearly 1,300 acres (5.3 km) at the southern end of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges. In 1971, three faculties of BHU viz., Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) and College of Technology (TECHNO) were merged to form the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU).
Scholarship programme and its eligibility:
PS Sita Ram Endowment Scholarship:
To be awarded to a poor and deserving B.Tech student, preferably from Mechanical Engineering stream. Every year, the scholarship committee of IIT (BHU) selects the candidate for this scholarship.
Late Kailash Mathur Memorial Scholarship:
A scholarship of the value of Rs. 200 per month for ten months shall be awarded each year to a deserving students of B.Tech studying for the degree course in Mechanical Engineering. The awardee shall not be eligible for any other scholarship.
Awarded to a poor and deserving candidate, preferably an orphan student of Electrical Engineering.
Harendra Nath Bose Scholarship:
Awarded to meritorious and deserving Bengali Brahmo students of engineering and technology and mining and metallurgy engineering.
Pandit Hari Krishna Scholarship:
Awarded to poor and deserving Kashmiri Pandit students of the Faculty of Technology.
