IIMT offers global accountancy qualification in association with ACCA

Gurgaon, 3rd March 2014: The Institute of International Management and Technology (IIMT) Gurgaon will be offering the globally recognised ACCA Qualification formed by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants following an agreement signed on the 27 February 2014.
Students at IIMT Gurgaon will have an opportunity to study the ACCA Qualification, which is based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the standard with which Indian accounting standards will be converging in the next two years. The programme will be launched in mid- April and will involve a multi-national accounting firm as a learning partner.

In ACCA course, students will not only have the opportunity to gain the professional level ACCA Qualification, which is equivalent to a UK Master's degree, but also to gain a B.Sc in Applied Accounting from the top-rated UK university Oxford Brookes during the course of their studies.
IIMT Gurgaon is an initiative promoted by IIT & Wharton School alumni who wish to establish quality education in India. The programme, offered at an undergraduate level in over 170 countries, allows a flexibility to either earn an Advance Diploma in Accounting & Finance in only 18 months or to further pursue a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University (UK). The graduating students will have an opportunity to work in multinational accounting firms and businesses.The new program offered at an undergraduate level is very valuable as ACCA's new global professional accounting qualification has been developed following consultation with 30,000 stakeholders around the world. The research has demonstrated that the demand for internationally trained accountants is fast growing and that there is a shortage in many countries," said Dr. Vinnie Jauhari, Director, IIMT.
