IIM Bangalore has a package of good news for candidates who have applied for CAT 2016. We bring you the good news in brief:

Correcting errors in CAT 2016 application forms

Mistakes do happen while filling an application form. Now, CAT 2016 candidates need not worry if they committed mistakes while filling their application forms at the time of submission. They can correct the errors by visiting the CAT Application Form web page. They can correct mistakes in the following sections,

  • Percentage of marks scored
  • Work experience
  • Selected programmes

This facility is available from 1 to 5 October 2016

Good news for candidates applying under Persons With Disability (PWD)

Those candidates who have applied for CAT 2016 under the Persons with disability (PWD) category will be able to avail all the required help for writing the prestigious entrance exam. IIM Bangalore will provide the aforementioned facility through its CAT application web page and the specially abled candidates can avail the following facilities,

  • Candidates can ask for a scribe through an application
  • Rrequest for wheelchairs
  • Request for enabling a zoom feature
  • Candidates can apply for the above facilities from 1 to 5 October 2016

For candidates with visual difficulties

The management institute has plans to provide questions as alternatives to graphs, pictures or maps during the exams for candidates with visual impairment.

Further, on 4 December 2016, that is on the day of the exams, the PWD candidates will have an opportunity to register 15 minutes before other candidates.

PWD coordinators will extend a helping hand for PWD candidates at every exam centre. The list of PWD coordinators will be shared with the concerned candidates much before the exams.

Prof Rajendra K Bandi, Convener of CAT 2016 told Times of India, "Going by the trends of previous years, there will be a huge surge in the number of registrations in the last 2-3 days, which increases the load on servers and can potentially impact server response time. Candidates are advised to register early and avoid last minute inconvenience."

Other important details related to CAT 2016

  • The test will begin on Sunday, December 4, 2016 across 138 cities. It will be conducted in two sessions.
  • Candidates are free to choose four cities in order of preference
  • Candidates will get to know their centres of exam after September 22, 2016, which is the last date of registration
  • After submitting their applications, candidates can download their admit cards from 18 October 2016 till the date of exam
  • The last date of registration for CAT 2016 is 22 September 2016 till 5 pm
