ICSI to go online

According to the new rule, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will now organise its examination online. Candidates who want to pursue their career in this field will have to give their foundation exam online from June 2014. According to ICSI statistics, currently there are 35,000 members in the country and four lakh company secretary students in the country.

With in next 2-3 years the whole system will be made online, according to the ICSI plans. Apart from online examination, ICSI has also planned to launch e-learning and e-training facilities for the students of the country. ICSI has already introduced a new syllabus for executive programme which will be effective from 1st February, 2014.

As per the ICSI reports, the institute has already made exam form submission process online since October 2013. Recently, in January the institute took another step forward and made registration process online for new students. Last year in October ICSI had uploaded small modules in video format for simplifying the provisions of the Companies Act 2013 on YouTube.
