The results of the online examination for the Company Secretaries Programme has been released by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The programme was conducted in 114 cities across the country last year. The exam dates were on December 3 and 4, 2016. Deepak Jain from Haryana got the first rank in the foundation programme exam. Rashmeet Kaur Chhabra from Chhattisgarh secured the second place.
Ranked third are Preeti Rajan Deshmukh from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu's VR Shashanghan Suresh. For the December 2016 session, 66.21% candidates passed the foundation programme examination.
The next computer-based examination for the ICSI CS Exam is scheduled for June 3 and 4, 2017. The subject wise break-up of marks can also be viewed by the candidates on ICSI official website. Candidates can also download the e-result-cum-marks statement.
How to check ICSI CS Exam 2016 Results
- Go to ICSI official website
- On the homepage, under the Student tab, click Examination
- A new page will open. Click on the hyperlink 'Declaration of Result of Computer Based Examination for Foundation Programme held in December, 2016'
- Select examination name
- Enter your details such as roll number
- Press Submit
- Your results will be displayed. Save it to your computer and take a print out for future reference

About ICSI
According to ICSI official website, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) is constituted under an Act of Parliament i.e. the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of 1980). ICSI is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India awards the certificate of bestowing the designation of Company Secretary(CS) to a candidate qualifying for the membership of the Institute. It was in 1960 that the Company Law Board started a course in Company Secretaryship leading to the award of Government Diploma in Company Secretaryship.
