ICAI to provide “Writers” in Chartered Accountants Examination

Writers provided for the disabled in CA Exams

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi is the second largest accounting body in the world with about 4,50,000 candidates appearing in the Chartered Accountants examination twice a year, in the months of May and November.

ICAT conducts Common Proficiency Test (CPT), Intermediate (IPC) and Final examinations in about 400 centres spread over 158 cities throughout India and four cities abroad, which normally lasts for 15 days.

The Institute offers compensatory time and / or writer (scribe) for the differently abled examinees in the said examinations.

The Institute is in the process of empanelling writers (scribes) and accordingly invites applications from eligible persons who are studying in recognised schools, colleges and other educational institutions to apply as "Writers" in the following cities; Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Indore and Ludhiana.

The eligibility for becoming a writer:
CPT:

Candidates should have passed class 10th / matriculation.

Final / Intermediate [IPC]:
Under Graduate students. (Registered students of CA/CWA/CS course, passed Final examination and a member of the ICAI, ICWAI, and ICSI are not eligible to act as a writer).

The writer will be paid an honorarium of Rs.500/- per paper / two sessions of CPT.

Those who are desirous of empanelling themselves, may also go through the guidelines and declaration format to familiarise themselves with the nature of writer's assignment.
