How to stop your application from being rejected

Well it doesn't end when you click on the "Submit" button while applying to colleges. Many times it so happens that some of your documents were not sent to the college and they have replied to you stating the same. You application is now sidelined. This results in extreme stress and anxiety. Understandable. Here are some tips to avoid this...

1) Check and recheck:
Make sure the guidance counselor has all the list of "documents needed" ready, for the colleges you have chosen. You need to go an extra mile and cross check it yourself, about what are the documents asked by each of the colleges. Do not miss out on this one! Its is the first and the basic step, so be sure. Check and recheck the things you have to send.

2) Plan ahead of time:
Make sure that you have scored the required marks as per college's minimum marks criterion. Next, you must be sure that you will receive your scores before the college admission deadline, this would mean that you have to book an early slot for taking up the required exam. The scores would reach you in about 10-15 days or even weeks in some cases. So plan ahead of time.

3) Know about payment details:
Most colleges have an option where the payment can be done using a credit card. Others would require a cheque. If fee waiver has been accepted, admissions office must be called and informed about the same, and necessary details must be provided to ensure it.

4) The supplements to be sent:
Many colleges would want you to let them know about your personal details, reasons why you crave for the particular major, and essays in certain cases. And these supplement submissions have a deadline, and they will not wait for you. So check throughly while applying for any supplements that the college requires and based on that prepare for what is asked and apply before the deadline.

So take care about the necessary documents that needs to be submitted, the deadlines and other little things that you did not think were important. By doing so, you can breath free, because you can be sure you have done everything in the right manner and that your application stands no chance for rejection!
