Himachal Pradesh Class 12 Board Exam Paper Leak

HPBOSE has canceled the class 12 physics and computer science exams as the question papers and answer sheets were allegedly stolen from the examination center.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has canceled the Class 12 Physics and Computer Science papers in the state due to the question paper leak. The examination of the two subjects has been canceled in all 1,846 centers.

 

According to reports, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) Class 12 exam started from March 3, 2017, while the class 10 board exams began on March 4, 2017, and will conclude on March 17, 2017.

The matter came into notice of HPBOSE when the principal of the school informed about the theft.
As reported by PTI, some question papers and answer sheets were allegedly stolen from the examination center at Government Senior Secondary School, Nichar in Kinnaur district, raising apprehension that the papers might have been leaked.

Class 12 question paper leaked

The Director, Higher Education would conduct the inquiry and action would be taken against those found guilty, the Chief Minister said.

Further, Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur, Naresh Kumar has placed the principal of the said school, along with the Centre Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and chowkidar under suspension and a FIR has also been registered at Bhaba Nagar police station.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh also made own statement in the state assembly on the theft of the question papers."The double lock of the cupboard in the school was found broken and 60 papers of each subject and some answer sheets were found missing," said the Chief Minister.

The Physics paper was scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, while the Computer Science paper was to be held on March 21, 2017. The fresh dates for the examination would be announced soon, a spokesman for the board said.

HPBOSE, Dharamshala started functioning in 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968. The head-quarter of the board was earlier located at Shimla but was later shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. Over 8000 schools are affiliated with this board.
