The bench, after going through a copy of a letter written by the Principal Secretary to the government in this regard, also directed it to constitute an expert committee within a month to go into the formulation of the proposed act.

The petitioner had contended that the Code of Regulations for Matriculation Schools was deceitfully issued by the government contrary to the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Private Schools (Regulation) Act.

In its counter, the government had stated that to govern the matriculation, Anglo-Indian, oriental, nursery and primary schools in the light of the Tamil Nadu Uniform System of School Education Act 2010 and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act,2009, a comprehensive act would be formulated.
