Gujarat HSC exams begins from 13th March 2014

Ahmedabad: 1,15,495 students in total will take their Science examination for semester 6 for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). For the semester 2 examinations commencing from 13th March, 2014, around 1,28,372 students will appear. 517 students will take their exam in Sanskrit medium said the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) officials.

5,08,901 candidates will appear for the HSC general stream examinations and 9,75,897 students will be appearing for the SSC examinations, the Board officials said.

SSC exams will be conducted in 681 centres, 178 sub centres and HSC Science examination will be conducted in 115 centres, the officials said.

A 24- hour control room has been deployed to aid students to file their complaints, the board officials informed.

District education officers have received special directives to make arrangements such that it would prevent parents from forming groups and standing outside the examination centres. 30,000 employees and 450 squads in total will monitor the examination. 244 flying squads are also prepared by the board to restrict malpractices.

In Ahmedabad city and Ahmedabad rural, the examinations being conducted in 25 cetres across the district will be webcast. 65,998 students from 215 buildings in the city will appear for their SSC examination. 46,771 students from 130 buildings will be appearing for the same in rural.

43,150 students will attend the exam from 156 centres in the HSC general stream in Ahmedabad city. 29,700 students from 69 centres will appear for their exam in Ahmedabad rural.

11,980 students from 52 buildings will appear for HSC Science, while 4700 students from 19 buildings will be taking their examinations in rural areas.
