German students & faculty visit Manav Rachna International University

Faridabad, March 7, 2014: Manav Rachna stands for infinity of knowledge, wherein the University believes in enriching the course curricula with a variety of experiences. In today's times where business knows no geographical boundaries, working in a cross- cultural environment is one of the main tenets of training to be imparted to future managers. Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), in association with the International Education Centre of Manav Rachna International University, conducted an interactive session for students from University of Applied Sciences (UAS), Schweinfurt, Germany. Students from UAS Schweinfurt have been visiting MRIU every year since 2011-'12. The group of 40 students, who visited the University this year, are pursuing courses in engineering and social sciences. They were accompanied by six faculty members from diverse areas such as leadership management, IT security, management systems, organisational behavior etc.

The programme began with an introduction about MRIU, with emphasis on the Indian system of ethics. Students from UAS and FMS, MRIU exchanged views on various aspects of the cultural and education systems prevalent in India and Germany. Students discussed about the family system, religions, festivals, state of the economies, job opportunities, teaching methods, evaluation parameters etc. Students from the Faculty of Management Studies took their German counterparts on a tour of the MRIU campus. They also visited Radio Manav Rachna- Community Radio Station, for a unique experience. At the end of their visit to MRIU, they were taken to the Sports facilities, in particular the shooting range, where students tried their hands at taking shots.

The faculty members of FMS interacted with their German counterparts, exchanging thoughts about curricula, specialisation areas, evaluation, classroom problems etc. In the future, it is envisaged to engage students from both the universities in joint projects. The hospitality for the entire programme was handled by the Hotel Management department of FMS.
