FLAME University commences association with Yale

Yale's Summer Session offers courses during the summer for Yale students and qualified undergraduate students from other selected colleges and universities.

FLAME University, the pioneer in liberal arts education in India will begin its association with Yale University, Connecticut, United States with undergraduate students of FLAME University attending Yale's Summer Session Program beginning in the summer of 2017.

 

Yale University is an American Ivy League research university. Founded in 1701, it is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States.

The U.S. News & World Report ranked Yale third among U.S. national universities for 2016. It was ranked 15th in the 2016/17 QS World University Rankings and 12th in the 2016 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The Academic Ranking of World Universities placed Yale at 11th in the world in 2016.

FLAME University has been created as an academic institution anchored in Liberal Education. Being the pioneer of Liberal Education in India, FLAME University delivers the country's premier interdisciplinary education experience.

 Flame to begin an association with Yale

Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Viraj Shah, ChairOffice- of International Relations, FLAME University, said, "We are honored to begin our association with Yale University, USA, one of the most reputed universities in the world. With this agreement, we want to provide our students a global perspective on education and research and prepare them for leadership and service in an interconnected globalized world. Commencing with the Yale Summer Session association, we hope to build and strengthen our relationship with Yale University in the times to come."

FLAME is proud to become one of Yale's international partner universities whose students may attend the Yale Summer Session. FLAME University students will be able to attend Yale's Summer Session and benefit from the experience of spending an enriching summer at Yale.

Dr. Jeanne Follansbee, Dean of Yale Summer Session and Associate Dean of Yale College remarked, "We are delighted to welcome FLAME University students for Yale's Summer Session. We are confident that students from Yale, FLAME, and other universities will benefit from the opportunity to learn together. FLAME's liberal education ethos is also at the core of Yale. Having FLAME undergraduate students at Yale will increase opportunities for cross-cultural collaborations in Yale Summer Session.

A team from Yale University including Dr. Jane Edwards - Dean of International and Professional Experience & Senior Associate Dean of Yale College, and Ms. Ann Kuhlman - Director of Office of International Students & Scholars is expected to visit FLAME University in April 2017.

Through this association, FLAME University strives to enhance the educational experience of students by encouraging and providing them with opportunities to operate in multilingual and multicultural settings at an international level.

This exposure adds value to students by diversifying their learning experience; enhances their employability by having demonstrable experience of living and learning in a culture which is different from their own.
