Engineering Branches that have lost its shine

Earlier we explained about the engineering branches which are most sought-after by the students.

In this article, we give you a list of least preferred engineering branches among students. These branches typically have only few takers.

Information Technology (IT) is one of the branches that has lost its sheen. IT is almost equal to Computer Science branch, but some of the subjects may vary.

IT was a much sought-after branch in Tier 2 and Tier 3 colleges. But as the recruitment process, shows less in IT engineers and more interest in Computer Science and Engineering graduates, the demand for IT engineering has also gone down substantially.

Only 1,237 engineering colleges out of 3,134 colleges offers IT branch.

Bio-Technology is the second least preferred branch by the students. Bio-Technology is the study of science and Technology. But lack of facilities and researchers in this field, makes it less popular.

Only 122 engineering colleges across the country offers Bio-Technology branch.

Automobile Engineering is the third least preferred branch by the students. It is sub-branch of Mechanical Engineering. The falling value of automobiles in market has stopped the recruitment process by the companies.

Only 172 colleges across the country offers Automobile engineering branch.
