Economics, English Most Sought After Courses In St. Stephen's College

New Delhi, June 11: In Delhi University's St Stephen's College, Economics and English are the most sought after courses with the college receiving maximum number of applications for these courses, an official said.

Being a minority institution, St. Stephen's conducts its own admission process.

The admissions to the college also began along with other DU colleges June 2 and will end June 16.

"For Economics 2,495 applications have been made, followed by English with 2,483 till 1 PM. Tuesday," an official in-charge of admissions in the college told IANS.

There are 100 seats for Economics and 60 seats for English in the college. The college only conducts online admissions and so far a total of 9,923 students have registered and paid for various courses.

The college conducts interviews for the final selection of students after they have qualified the cut-offs.

The other courses offered in the college are History, Sanskrit, Physics and Chemistry, among others, providing 40 percent reservation for Christian students.

Seats are also reserved for students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The college has a total 410 seats.
