The Hyderabad High Court on Monday August 25, 2014, has directed Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad to give permission to private engineering colleges to participate in EAMCET 2014 counselling in Telangana.
Earlier, around 174 private engineering colleges in Telangana had filed a petition against JNTU, Hyderabad.
The HC judge found an error in the action taken by the JNTUH on disaffiliation of these colleges.
With the EAMCET 2014 engineering counselling ending on Monday, the future of these engineering colleges still look austere.
Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has said that it will take a decision after the JNTUH sends the list of engineering colleges.
The students who had already choosen their colleges in web counselling will be allowed two days to change their options.
APSCHE chairman Prof. L. Venugopala Reddy, said, "There will be clarity only by tomorrow. JNTU has to send the list of colleges and once they send it, we will see what can be done."
