The fitness trials began on Thursday amid a huge turnout.

The process is being video-taped to avoid any controversy.

"There is no chance of partiality. The whole process is transparent and is being video-taped."

Students will have to qualify either two 50-m runs for endurance or a 1,000-m run or walk and a standing broad jump in the fitness test.

Five percent of the seats have been reserved by the varsity under the sports and extra-curricular activities quota.
