GCET 2014 applications from 17th March

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa is all set to conduct Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET 2014) for admissions to bachelor's degree in the fields of Architecture, Dentistry, Engineering, Medicine and Pharmacy in government, government-aided and un-aided colleges, for the academic year 2014-15.

GCET 2014 entrance exam will be conducted on 06th and 07th May 2014.

According to the DTE Goa, GCET 2014 application forms will be available from 17th March 2014.

Currently, the seat distribution for the 2014-15 admissions is same as it was in the academic year 2013-14, i.e, 27% of seats would be reserved for OBC. This shall be appropriately revised and duly notified in the official website of DTE Goa.

The Directorate of Technical Education is also authorised to process admissions for following seats, for which separate prospectuses are issued;

  • Direct admissions to second year of degree courses for diploma and B.Sc degree holders.
  • Diploma programmes in the polytechnics in Goa.

As per the provisions of the scheme, each institution, shall admit upto maximum of 5% of its sanctioned intake in the same discipline, as supernumerary seats. Admissions are to be done based on the same merit list as used for sanctioned intake.

Admissions to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of NATA as per details given under eligibility.

Outside the state candidates can obtain the prospectus and application form by sending request to Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Alto- Porvorim,Goa, 403521 along with a DD of Rs.900/- payable in favour of "Director of Technical Education" at Panaji.

Please Note:
All candidates desirous of seeking admissions to Professional Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Homoeopathy in the colleges within the State of Goa (Except AIQ & GOI) during the academic session 2014-2015, must appear and have a valid score in GCET-14, and should fulfil other eligibility criteria for admission as given in this prospectus. Merit list for these courses shall be based only on GCET-14 score.
