The DU admissions for UG courses are slated to be conducted over a longer period of time this year, continuing as long as till August 14, 2015, as recommended by the admission committee of the varsity.
Last year, several students withdrew their admissions in DU after July 31, post counseling sessions being conducted at other universities for professional courses. Hence, it has been proposed that the deadline for admissions be extended till August 14 this year.
DU has also stated that CBCS will not be implemented if the Executive Council (EC) and the Academic Council (AC) of the varsity are not in favor of the same. Last month, DU had advised all the affiliated colleges to start preparing to implement CBCS.
Implementation of the CBCS without the approval of the statutory bodies will be a violation of statutory norms, as per varsity officials. However, DU is gearing itself to implement the new system.
