Delhi University Stops Entrance Exams For UG Courses

The Delhi University (DU) has announced not to conduct entrance exams for undergraduate courses.
Earlier, the reports suggested that Delhi University considered introducing the exams this year.

According to the latest reports, the university has informed the Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry that the admission process will be conducted in the old cut-off list system.

Now, Delhi University is planning to start the admission process in the third week of April, a month ahead of the regular schedule.

"DU has informed that it would continue with the admission process which was followed for various undergraduate courses last year. It is not introducing admission through entrance test in any course this year and there are no fresh guidelines in this regard," a senior HRD Ministry official told.

DU rejects entrance exam

The university will have entrance examination for the below-mentioned courses:

  • Bachelor with Honours of Management Studies (BMS)
  • BA (Hons) in Business Economics (BBE)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
  • BA Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education
  • Bachelor in Multimedia and Mass Communication
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education

In January, as per the reports, the university is planning to do away with the traditional cut-offs, however, they have rolled back the idea.

Important dates to remember:

Online registrations begin from April 20-25, 2017.
