Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) has partnered with Coursera, an online education company, to offer curated educational content to Manipal Global's learners and alumni community.
Coursera has tied up with world's top universities and educational institutions including Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, John Hopkins University, Duke University along with partnership with 145 universities globally. Coursera has the backing of VC firms like New Enterprise Associates, Kleiner Perkins Caufiled & Buyers.
The tie-up between Manipal Global and Coursera will benefit 1.8 million students of Manipal Global Education by giving them access to specific online study materials from Coursera. It means that the students will have an access to educational materials of world standard.
Vaitheeswaran S, MD and CEO of Manipal Global said, "Our learners will now have greater access to curated content from world renowned universities through Coursera. This in turn will help improve the employability of youth in our country by supplementing their core education with skills in upcoming areas like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Blockchain."
60 specialisations will be offered by Coursera to Manipal initially. These courses will help in reskilling the people according to changing requirements. The students from Manipal Global will require a single sign-on to access all the courses.
Even Manipal University is planning to introduce courses from Coursera in its curriculum.
