76 companies streamed in at the campus placement of National Institute of Design, with Samsung R & D Institute became the biggest recruiter of the day 2, offering 18 jobs on the second day of the placement. On the basis of jobs offered by various companies on both the days, Congnizant is currently the biggest recruiter.
The industry interface at NID (6th to 8th of December) has till now seen participation of 76 companies. A total of 96 companies are expected to come to the premier design institute to recruit students this year's placements.
NID went online with students portfolios this time, giving recruiters a chance to browse through them before coming to the campus for hiring. Companies like Philips, Vipul Industries, York Transport (Equipment) India, Design Factory India, JLT Dubai, REHWA and Aavaran participated on Sunday. Congnizant is currently the biggest recruiter this year, with 26 job offers, followed by Samsung R & D Institute, India.
"Students from all disciplines have been offered jobs. This makes it clear that design is now an integral part of all business. Impressive participation by design studios and startup firm, some by NID alumni themselves, were also seen," says Sujitha Nair, industry relation and students' placement officer at NID.
