The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) board has introduced certain changes in the marking scheme in Indian School Certificate (ISC) i.e. Class 12 Board exams.
Exams to be held with a ratio of 70:30 marks:
According to the new scheme, the theory exam and practical exam will be conducted with a ratio of 70:30 marks respectively.
Earlier , the theory exams and the practical exams were both held for 50 marks each. The changes will be visible in the subjects, namely, Computer Science, Fashion Designing, Physical Education, Indian Classical Music (Hindustani), Indian Classical Music (Carnatic style) and Western Music.
Duration of the paper:
Also, both the papers (theory and practical) will be held for a duration of 3 hours, now.
"Taking into consideration the requirements of the universities and that of the children these changes have been introduced. Every concerned school has been informed through circulars issued by the board and have been assigned the task to inform students and parents", said the The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CISCE, Gerry Arathoon
The released statement also mentioned, " The changes are applicable only for the 12th board examination".
Over 2,000 schools affiliated to the Board will witness these changes across the nation.
