CBSE offers scholarships to girl students

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi is offering scholarships to girl students of classes 11th and 12th. According to CBSE, scholarships would be awarded to the girls students who are an only child to their parents.

These girls students must have cleared the class 10th examination with 60% or 6.2 CGPA marks.

The main purpose of offering the benefit is to appreciate the efforts of parents to encourage education among girls as well as to motivate brilliant students. Students from schools where the tuition fee is lower than Rs 1,500 each month will be eligible for the scholarship.

This scholarship is open for Indian students only. CBSE has fixed the tuition fee of the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) to Rs 6,000/- per month.

Firstly, the scholarship will be offered to class 11th students for one year. Later it will be renewed to next year / 2 years, based on the candidate's score.

Last date for submission of application form is September 15, 2014.
