With an aim to make the academic system transparent for all, the Central Board of Secondary Education has directed all the affiliated schools to upload fee structure online by October 31, 2016. CBSE recently sent an office memorandum to all its affiliated schools across the country to upload all the information regarding fee structure online.
According to the notice sent to the schools, parents will now be able to know the facilities the schools will be offering.
The notice mainly has been issued to address the issue of fee structure across the schools affiliated to the board, as the board had received complaints from parents that some CBSE schools were charging outrageous fees.
Also, according to the affiliated bye-laws of the board, the fees charges should commensurate with the facilities provided by the institution.
During the 2016 session, the board has issued an advisory asking the affiliated schools not to charge outrageous fee from students.
Further, speaking about this memorandum, a senior official said, "This is a mandatory disclosure and the circular has been sent to all the principals to follow it strictly. The information will be uploaded periodically on half-yearly basis."
