CBSE CTET 2016: Exam to be held on September 18

Examination date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2016 has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam is scheduled to be held on September 18.

Eligibility Criteria:

The minimum eligibility criteria to appear for the test is as follows:

Minimum qualifications for primary stage (Classes 1 to 5):

  • Candidates applying for this post should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 percent marks
  • The candidates must have completed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education

Minimum Qualifications for Elementary Stage (Classes 6 to 8):

  • Candidates should have completed graduation. Also, they should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education

CTET Scores:

Schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT's of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi will accept the CTET Scores.

The CTET exam conducted for candidates to be eligible for selection as a teacher for classes 1 to 8. CTET scores may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
