New Delhi: Japan Foundation, New Delhi and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have a signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote Japanese language.
The MoU was signed by director general of Japan Foundation, Kaoru Miyamoto and BHU registrar KP Upadhyay on Thursday. According to the chairman of International Centre, BHU, Prof HB Srivastava, so far, the varsity has signed as many as 49 MoUs with international universities.
Besides, National Institute of Material Sciences, Japan, various universities including Kansai University, Shimane University and Kyoto University have signed MoUs with BHU.
As per the MoU, under the Japanese language native salary support programme, Japan Foundation will provide a teacher at the department of foreign languages of university and will also bear the emoluments. The course books and support materials of Japanese language will also be provided by the foundation.
