Australia grants scholarship to 60 Indian students

The Australian government grants scholarship to 60 Indian students, to help them to pursue their studies and research in the country.

The number of students to receive an award has been increased from 40 to 60 for the year 2014. These candidates can use the country's research infrastructure, take up professional development and associate with top academics in their field.

These candidates can continue their studies in research at vocational, postgraduate and postdoctoral levels. They can also join professional development programs at a top Australian university.

Australian government officials said that the scholarship will encourage sharing of knowledge. Moreover, to increase mutual understanding between the two countries. It will go a long way in further improving the ties between the two countries; the officials added.

The scholarship for the year 2015 have been awarded to 528 international students and 154 Australians, who candidates take up study and research abroad. 3 of such students from India is traveling to Australia, next year.

The registration process for the Endeavour Scholarship and Fellowship 2016 will commence from April 2015.

Around 40,000 Indian students are pursuing their education in Australia.
