Ashoka University, a residential campus and an independent non-profit private university, established under the Haryana Private Universities Act, is prepared to start its undergraduate courses from 1st August 2014.
The university offers a four-year undergraduate programme where students can select a subject of specialisation from majors such as mathematics, history, economics.
Some of the disciplines in the course include critical thinking, principles of sciences, and data analysis, among others.
It has partnered with University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and is in talks with other global top colleges. The faculty and teaching staff are from several British universities and US, besides Indian resources.
With total capacity of around 4000 students, the university is expected to start its first batch with 350 students, chosen out of 1500 applicants. It provides scholarships ranging from 25-100 percent to more than 200 students.
