Around 3,689 SRM University students get jobs offers

Around 3,689 of SRM University, Chennai gets job offers on day 1 of its placement process.

The companies like, Cognizant, Wipro and Infosys had offered jobs to these students for the batch of 2014-15. Cognizant selects 1,502, Infosys selects 1,105 and Wipro selects 1,082 students. The compensation packages offered between Rs 3 lakh and 3.5 lakh. More than 1,500 students gets offers from these three companies.

In 2013, more than 2,900 B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA students had got jobs offers. Over 50 other firms had already hired 600 students.

The top salary offer of an annual package of Rs 5 million Japanese Yen or around Rs 33 lakh was extended by the Japanese firm Works Applications. It was made to a final-year student of Computer Science Engineering (CSE).

The students from the branches of IT, CSE and ECE, are most preferred for the job offers.

Other important firms are Amazon, Hitachi Consulting, Musigma, Code Brahma, Unisys, S&P Capital IQ, Schneider Electric, Capgemini, I-Gate, CaterPillar and TCS. SRM expects more than 190 more firms to visit the campus for placement in coming days.
