VIT Varsity issues B.Tech application form to NRIs, Foreign Students

VIT University, Vellore, issues application form to Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Foreign Students for admission to B.Tech programmes, commencing in the session 2014-15.

Admissions to these candidates will be based on marks obtained in qualifying examination and availability of seats.

Who can apply:

  • Foreign Nationals
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Children of Indian Nationals working abroad
  • Non Resident Indian (NRIs)

B.Tech application form to NRIs, Foreign Students

Note: Except Foreign Candidates, remaining candidates are eligible for VITEEE 2014 examination.

Eligibility Criteria:

For NRI Candidates:

  • For admission to B.Tech courses, candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2 system of Indian Education) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as subjects.
  • Minimum average of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or Biology or Biotechnology (PCB) in standard XII or Equivalent Degree (Usually it is Grade ‘C', to be produced with equivalent marks).
  • In case if they have studied Physical science with combination of Physics and Chemistry as subjects in the qualifying examination, they should produce the certificate of approval from the school to that effect and also proper approval order from the AIU / Board of Studies.
  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the 14 B.Tech. Degree programmes.
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1992 are eligible to apply.
  • NRI candidates should produce Employer Certificate of the sponsor (either Father or Mother).
  • Valid passport and Visa copies.

For Foreign Candidates:

  • For admission to B.Tech courses, candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2 system of Indian Education) / Diploma awarded with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory two subjects.
  • The third subject being either Chemistry / Computer Sciences / Electronics / Bio-technology / Biology.
  • Minimum of 60% aggregate marks in these subjects (Usually it is "C" grade) for all engineering programmes (Instead of MPC only) other than Bio-technology / Bio-medical Engg.
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1992 are eligible to apply.
  • Proof of the foreign National.
  • Valid passport and Visa copies.

Important Dates:

Last date for receipt of application form on 10 March 2014.
Announcement of shortlisted candidates on 3rd Week of March 2014.
