IIT Gandhinagar, invites applications from foreign students for its Masters of Arts (MA) for the academic year 2014. Students can apply online by logging on to the official website of IIT-G.


Society and Culture (offered by the discipline of Humanities and Social Sciences)


Minimum of 60% marks / 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) / 2.5 (on a 4 point scale) at the Bachelor's level in any field of study.
Students who are awaiting final semester/ year results and those who would be completing their Bachelor's degree in the current academic year may also be eligible to apply.

Programme requirements:

The MA Programme at IITGN is a 4-semster fully residential Programme that places a strong emphasis on both course work and research projects. A minimum of 80 credits in coursework (core courses and electives) and thesis together, is required for the award of this degree.


  • The institute provides basic medical care on its campus. However, it is mandatory that all international students carry adequate health insurance that covers medical costs for the entire duration of their stay at IIT Gandhinagar.
  • The medium of instruction at IITGN is English. IITGN expects all candidates to have basic proficiency in English.
  • Candidates are required to bring original official transcripts, degree certificates (if available), and other documents about their educational qualifications and experience for verification on the day of joining. In case candidate has not obtained his/ her degree certificate, he/ she will be required to furnish it within 1 year of joining. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of admission.
