IIT Gandhinagar, invites applications for Post Doctoral Fellowships (PDFs) for the academic year 2014. Eligible students can enroll themselves by logging on to the official website of IIT Gandhinagar.

Gravitational-Wave Physics

Gravitational-Wave Physics:

These positions will focus on developing and implementing search algorithms for detection of
astrophysical gravitational waves in data from advanced/ future laser interferometer gravitational wave detectors. Candidates with expertise and/ or interest in general relativity, gravitational wave astronomy, and statistical signal processing are encouraged to apply. Candidates must hold a Ph.D in Physics, Astrophysics or related areas. Candidates with Ph.D in Engineering faculty with adequate experience in statistical signal processing may also be considered. They are expected to be familiar with the Unix/ Linux operating systems and programming in C/ Matlab/ Python languages.


Selected candidates will be hosted at IITGN for a year, renewable once or twice. Their functions will include interacting with IITGN faculty and visiting archaeologists, assisting laboratory analyses of archaeological material, research projects and other activities of the centre. Candidates should hold a Ph.D in Archaeology or a related discipline; a B.Sc/ M.Sc in science is desirable, although not compulsory. The emoluments will be as per the norms listed on IIT Gandinagar's website depending on the qualification and experience of the candidates.
